Today, we had the privilege of witnessing a truly heartwarming reunion, and we couldn’t wait to share the incredible story with all of you. Meet Maggie. She found herself in our care recently after living as a friendly cat in a feral cat colony in Bullhead City.
During her time with us, we made a remarkable discovery – Maggie had a microchip. Despite our initial doubts, we reached out to the microchip company and learned that Maggie had been chipped back in 2013 in Phoenix, a significant distance from where she was found. We were cautiously optimistic but uncertain about what the search might uncover.
To our astonishment, after making a few more calls, we were connected with Maggie’s family. They had relocated to Bullhead City, and Maggie had been missing for three long years after slipping out of the door one fateful day. The news was nothing short of miraculous – Maggie had been found just over two miles away from her home.
That evening, our volunteers from Feral Cat Warriors had the honor of facilitating a heartfelt reunion at their local PetSmart. Tears of joy flowed freely as Maggie was finally reunited with her family. It was a moment filled with overwhelming emotion and pure happiness, as they embraced their beloved fur baby once more.
This heartwarming reunion serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of microchipping our pets and ensuring their records are kept up to date. Maggie’s story is a testament to the hope and possibility of being reunited with lost pets, and it’s a reminder to cherish every moment with our furry companions. You never know when they might find their way back home.
