Two nights ago, we received a distressing message about a cat dying in a lady’s yard. Despite it being a Friday night and limited options for veterinary care, we couldn’t turn our backs on Jake. I took him in and provided him with the best care I could over the weekend, administering fluids, Karo syrup, and cleaning his eye as best as possible. However, what we discovered was heart-wrenching.

Jake has no right eye, which appears to have shrunk, and his left eye is swollen and covered in white matter. Upon closer examination, we found that his eye is infested with maggots, which are devouring his poor little eyeball. Despite our efforts to remove them, the situation is dire.

We need to act fast to save Jake’s life. He requires emergency eye removal surgery, ideally tomorrow. The maggots are wreaking havoc, and we can’t stand by and watch him suffer any longer.

We’ve affectionately named him Jake, and he’s shown remarkable resilience in the face of such adversity. But he needs our help now more than ever.

Please, if you can spare anything, consider making a donation towards Jake’s surgery. Your generosity could mean the difference between life and death for this brave little fighter.

Together, we can give Jake the chance at a pain-free and happy life he so deserves. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
