Miss Winky would like to invite you to her fundraising challenge, her new human family has generously offered to match your donations dollar for dollar up to $2,000 between today and January 31st.
In June of 2021, Feral Cat Warriors was called out to a unique situation concerning an older gentleman who was caring for many feral cats and wanted to get them fixed. When we arrived at his home in Kingman, he came out carrying this little female feral kitten who was in horrible shape. He told us “I can’t help this one, can you help?” Living on a fixed income, there was no way that he could provide her with the care she needed, so we took her and told him that we would find a way to get her better.
The kitten, who was named Ellen (later changed to Winky), had developed a severe eye infection and needed specialized care and treatment. We reached out to Nikki Martinez (of My Foster Kittens) in Las Vegas, who takes on special cases just like this one. Within a short time, this kitten was on her way north to get the special love and attention she so desperately needed.
Winky ended up have an eye enucleation (eye removal) because the infection was so bad. Nikki continued to care for her during her recovery and then placed Winky up for adoption.
After her recovery, a lady from California reached out to Nikki and offered to adopt her into her new forever home. One last road trip from Las Vegas to California, and now lives in a beautiful home with an amazing family!
Winky’s new mama is expecting a baby girl any day now, and she will soon have a real human baby sister to play and grow up with.
Because of generous donations and support from people just like YOU, we can continue to act swiftly to provide care or transportation for situations just like Winky’s. She was living on the streets of Kingman as a feral kitten and now is in a loving home with a family who gives her the world!
There are a couple of ways you can donate – we have a website that accepts donations, a PayPal, and a Venmo account. If you are on Instagram, click the link in our bio to find the donation links.
Donations help us provide aid to those who cannot afford to practice TNR (trap/neuter/return). They also make a difference in helping us feed and care for the cats and kittens we have. Thanks in advance, let’s get past the $2,000 mark! Please share this fundraiser far and wide!
